The Rhythm Village at Variety’s Fine China Lunch

Drumming at Variety's Fine China Lunch

On Wednesday 16th March, Variety, the children’s charity, held their annual Fine China Luncheon at China Doll restaurant, Woolloomooloo Wharf.  The event aims to raise much needed funds for Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs. Luckily, the weather held and a fabulous day was had by all!   There were loads of  incredible items donated by generous organisations and the bidding process ran throughout the luncheon. The Rhythm Village were there, not only to provide our donation of a Full Day of Free Music Workshops for a Special Needs School, but also to talk about and demonstrate the power of music for children with special needs. We were joined on stage by a beautiful family, where the sheer joy of playing music lit up the faces of the two boys. Everyone in the audience joined in, with clapping sticks and maracas, creating a magical musical moment.Variety Fine China Event

Once the event drew to its end and bidding closed, we discovered
that our donation raised an incredible $1,000 for Variety.
The school that is the lucky recipient of the full day of free music with The Rhythm Village is Wairoa Public School, in Bondi Beach. We look forward to going out to Wairoa and bringing lots of smiles to the faces of those beautiful students, in Term 2 this year.
