Description
The darbuka is one of the most unique drums. It is played with the hand and it has a very snappy and sharp sound. The darbuka drum is the leader of percussion instruments in the Middle East and North Africa. Often referred to as the “belly dance drum”, it is known for its beautiful and powerful sound.
The Darbuka creates a sharp, higher pitched sound than a traditional djembe. It is very responsive and can be played lightly with just the fingertips or the full palm.
