Mainstream School Music Programs

"Music education can help spark a child's imagination or ignite a lifetime of passion...Music education should not be a privilege for a lucky few, it should be a part of every child's world of possiblity."

- Hillary Clinton

The Rhythm Village works with schools across NSW using an integrated approach to the teaching of musical skills and knowledge.

Our courses closely align with the NSW Creative Arts Syllabus and cross over into other KLA’s such as mathematics and HSIE.

We explore all the fundamentals of music in a fun and engaging way, ensuring students develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of:

  • playing various instruments,
  • singing and chanting,
  • moving to music,
  • organising sound,
  • listening and following directions
  • understanding musical concepts

Our courses increase in their levels of complexity for students from Early Stage 1 up to Stage 3, ensuring appropriate outcomes are attained for each.

We can run multiple classes with as many students as possible over one full day.  Or, we can come out for a term of music, running full day music workshops each week, building on the learnings of the previous week. This could culminate in an end-of-term or end-of-year performance if desired.
Each term has a theme associated with it, which makes our programs exciting and dynamic.
