This metallaphone consists of 8 individual metal bars, each with a distinct tone and pitch. Metallophones are played the same way as xylophones, by striking the metal bars with a small mallet.
This metallaphone provides the user with auditory sensory input as they gently hit the musical bars with the stick/mallet provided. The attractive colours pop out, providing the user with extra visual sensory input.
The metallaphone will stimulate and help the player to develop fine motor skills, assisting with the concept of grasping, not only the stick, but also the individual metal bars. Importantly, it will provide lots of entertainment and enjoyment.
